R.N. Prakash and Chandrashekhar are two of the leading exponents of South-Indian classical music in Europe, and are both internationally renowned on their instruments having performed with leading musicians from India.

Both were born and trained in south India and came to settle in the UK in their 30s. They return regularly to perform and record in India. In the UK they have performed with many classical and contemporary musicians including Lalgudi Krishnamurthy, U.Srinivas, Zakir Hussain, Bhavani Shankar, Talvin Singh, Nitin Sawhney among others.

Chandrashekhar has his own orchestra – the Strings of India which has toured recently with the Asian Music Circuit. Prakash is the foremost musician and teacher at the London School of Carnatic Music. They have both been regular members of ShivaNova over the last 5 years.
