Marai are a five piece band led by Nickens Nkoso. Their sound is
rooted in the power of percussion and singing, combined with the
Congolese guitar and jazz saxophone. The lyrics reflect the variety
of the region.

choral style of Eastern Europe. Led by Dessislava Stefanova, the
London Bulgarian Choir takes us on a journey around Bulgaria, exploring
the landscapes of the voice and creative traditions of this land.
A celebration of of traditional Taiko drumming. Experience the thundering
and exhilarating rythms of Taiko in an entertaining display of this
ancient and fascinating folk art from Japan. A powerful fusion of
primal rhythm, dance and athelticism to captivate audiences of all
ages and backgrounds.
A
fusion of cultures, featuring tango and samba, with Indian music
and dance. Musicians drawn from The Philharmonia provide an evening
of exciting Argentinial tango and Brazillian samba. Collaborating
with Indian musicians from ShivaNova, the second set includes
pieces from their 'Secret Chants' album, featuring one of ShivaNova's
lead dancers Ash Mukherjee.

featuring the ten final shortlisted choirs. Schools, youth, and
adult choirs from Kent and Medway are invited to take part in the
first ever Equator Choir Competition as part of their World Music
2009 Spring series. Amateur choirs are invited to submit a recording
of their choir performing two songs, one of which must be a song
from another country or culture. Deadline for submissions is Wednesday
6 May. The finalists concert will feature the Judges' shortlist
of the ten best choirs from the region and winners will be announced
